About the Faculty of Economics
Faculty of Economics of the Warsaw University of Life Sciences was established on August 13, 1953 as the Faculty of Engineering and Economics of Agriculture. In 1958 the name of the Faculty was changed to the Faculty of Economics and Agriculture, it was in force until the end of 2007. At the request of the Dean of the Faculty, the Senate of the Warsaw University of Life Sciences, from 1 January 2008, changed its name to the present name. From the very beginning of its existence, the Faculty held a leading position as a research and teaching center. During its activity, the department promoted over 20 thousand. graduates of all forms of study. It is a model in terms of curricula. In its history, he has repeatedly introduced new subjects to the educational offer and created new fields of study, adapting them to the current needs of the market. Currently, the Faculty of Economics educates over 3,000 students in the first and second cycle of full-time and part-time studies. Students study five faculties: economics, management, finance and accounting, logistics, and tourism and recreation.
The Faculty of Economics, as a scientific unit, carries out research tasks in various areas as part of its statutory activity related to the development of research potential. These tasks are defined as follows:
- trends in the development of agriculture and agricultural trade,
- policy and strategy for the development of agriculture and rural areas,
- changes in the food economy in European countries,
- adaptation processes of agribusiness enterprises in the conditions of implementing the principles of sustainable development,
- communication, education and consulting in local and regional development.

Employers' Council
At the Faculty of Economics (former WNE) of the Warsaw University of Life Sciences, the Employers’ Council was established by the decision of the Dean. The main task of the Employers’ Council is to express opinions on the development and strategy of the Faculty of Economics, shaping the qualifications of graduates, including adapting study plans and programs and learning outcomes to the needs of the labor market, shaping the student internship program and acquiring internships, as well as developing cooperation with domestic and foreign units in the field of education, research, implementation of projects related to business practice.
