• Organization of classes

    Classes under the International MBA Program “Management in agribusiness” are underway 3 semesters and are held in the system modular .

    MBA studies “Management in Agribusiness” are carried out extramural in the form of Saturday and Sunday meetings, according to the calendar of studies at SGGW: in the winter semester (October – February) and in the summer semester (March – July).

    Didactic classes conducted during Saturday and Sunday conventions (8 hours a day). There are 9 meetings in each of the three semesters. Classes start at 9.15 am and last until 5 pm.

    and rules for preparing and submitting a diploma thesis

    §1

    1. Classes as part of the MBA SP “Management in agribusiness” end with a final grade, exam grade and thesis grade.
    2. The basis for the final grade is the number of credit points (from 0 to 100) awarded by the teacher responsible for the course. Credit points are awarded
      on the basis of attendance and for activity during classes and for possible homework.
    3. The basis for the exam grade is the number of points obtained in a given subject
      during the exam.
    1. The basis for the assessment of the diploma thesis is its preparation and defense.
    2. Study week and study trip are activities that expand knowledge and skills and are not compulsory. These classes take place with a minimum number of 8 interested people.

    §2

    1. In the third semester of studies, seminars devoted to the preparation of diploma theses are held.
    2. The diploma thesis is done independently by students or in groups
      2 persons under the supervision of the supervisor selected by the student
    1. The work is expected to be of a research nature or to solve real business problems. After being accepted by the supervisor, the thesis is assessed by two reviewers, including at least one foreign one.
    1. The submission and defense of the thesis should take place at the latest in the period
      up to 6 months from the last meeting in the last, third semester of studies.
    1. The condition for admission to the defense of the diploma thesis is to achieve the average grade for the entire studies at the level of at least 51%, with the fulfillment of the condition of achieving a minimum of 40% in a single module.
    2. The minimum grade for a diploma dissertation entitling to its defense is 51% of the maximum number of points.
    3. The required attendance is 80% of class attendance.

    §3

    1. The final number of points obtained for a given module is calculated as the weighted average of the final grade (weighted 40%) and the exam grade (weighted 60%).
    2. The grade for the entire studies is calculated as the arithmetic mean of grades from individual modules and is expressed in terms of points and grades according to the following scale:

    1. Graduates who pass the program of studies receive a certificate of completion of postgraduate studies.
    2. Graduates who pass the study program and prepare and defend the diploma thesis additionally receive an MBA diploma signed by the International Board of the MBA program network “Agribusiness Management and Commerce” and accredited by ICA (The Interuniversity Consortium for Life Sciences).
    3. The MBA diploma with honors is awarded to students who have obtained an average mark of more than 75% of the entire studies and at least 75% of the diploma thesis.

    §4

    1. The student’s absence from the exam on the agreed date is tantamount to
      with a fail grade in the exam.
    2. In the event of illness or other important random circumstances, the student may submit a justified application to the head of the SP MBA “Agribusiness Management”
      to set a different date for the exam.
    3. In the event of an unsatisfactory grade (i.e. less than 40 points in a given subject), the student has the right to a resit examination in a given subject.

    §5

    The student is required to pay the tuition fee within the set deadline.
