From June 5–9, 2025, a delegation from the Faculty of Economics at the Warsaw University of Life Sciences (SGGW) visited the Agricultural University of Tirana (UBT) in Albania https://www.ubt.edu.al/ . The delegation included:
- Dr. Hab. Marcin Ratajczak, Professor at SGGW, Dean of the Faculty of Economics
- Dr. Iwona Pomianek, Vice-Dean of the Faculty of Economics
- Dr. Monika Utzig, Vice-Dean of the Faculty of Economics
The visit aimed to strengthen academic collaboration and explore new opportunities for partnership. Meetings were held with:
- Prof. Dr. Ilir Kapaj, Vice-Rector of UBT (June 5)
- Prof. Dr. Fatbardh Sallaku, Rector of UBT (June 9)
- Prof. Dr. Remzi Keco, Dean of the Faculty of Economics and Agribusiness at UBT (June 9)
Key topics of discussion included study programs, student exchange opportunities, and potential areas for scientific cooperation.
On June 7, Dr. Monika Utzig and Dr. Iwona Pomianek gave a lecture and led a discussion with UBT doctoral students on the benefits and challenges of European integration, using the economic experiences of Poland and Albania as case studies.
As part of the visit, Dr. Pomianek and Dr. Utzig also completed a research internship summary under the supervision of Prof. Dr. Etleva Muca and Assoc. Prof. Dr. Albana Gjoni.
The delegation took part in several study visits, which provided a platform for discussing sustainable development in Tirana and its surrounding rural areas. Topics also included the role of agriculture in Albania’s economy and the tourism sector, which holds significant untapped potential.
