Postgraduate studies in Administration and public finance
The aim of the Postgraduate Studies in Administration and Public Finance of the Warsaw University of Life Sciences is to broaden the students’ knowledge of the functioning of public administration, in particular the public finance sector. Postgraduate studies in Administration and Public Finance enable the acquisition of the skills of analyzing and understanding the processes taking place in the financial economy of the state and local government, learning about the specificity of financial management and the provisions of financial law that regulate it.
Students of postgraduate studies can be people with a first or second degree diploma (bachelor, engineer, master).
In the case of public administration employees, the studies prepare for the test as part of the annual recruitment procedure for appointed officials. The substantive scope of the studies includes, among others matters covered by the knowledge test (in accordance with the provisions of the Regulation of the Prime Minister of December 16, 2009 on the manner of conducting qualification proceedings in the civil service), including, inter alia, in accordance with par. 2 clause 1 point 1., selected issues from law, public administration and public finance.
The Postgraduate Studies in Administration and Public Finance at SGGW in Warsaw cover selected issues listed in Annex 1 to the above-mentioned Regulation in the field of:
– rights (sources of law, administrative law, personal data protection, protection of classified information, civil service);
– public administration (functions and structure of public authorities, administration structure, decision-making processes in public administration);
– public finance (public finance law, state budget, budgets of local government units, budget procedures, budget policy, financial control, the European Union financial system, tax system, public debt, public procurement).
After completing postgraduate studies, a graduate should have theoretical and partly practical knowledge in the field of administration and public finance, and have the skills to recognize, diagnose and solve problems in this field. Graduates acquire knowledge that enables them to work in administration and public institutions in the future.
Great interest in this field of study at SGGW is due to from a rich programming offer. The strong point of this course is also the appropriate balance between the academic staff and internships teaching during the studies. Classes are conducted by people with many years of experience in the field of administration and public finances.
